VirtualBox is a virtual machine software designed to run older applications that don't work under newer versions of Windows (or if you're running Mac and Linux, for software that just won't plum work at all using WINE or your select software).

To give you an estimate of what I'm running the VM on, here are my specs:
AMD Phenom II BE x4 @ 2.5 GHz
6 GB RAM DDR2 800
ATi Radeon x1950 Pro with 512 MB DDR3 vRAM
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1

The specs for the VM that I set up are:
3096 (3 GB) RAM
128 MB video memory with 2D and 3D
120 GB dynamic hard drive
Windows XP Professional 32-bit with Service Pack 3
All Guest Additions installed (to install 3D you must install the additions in Safe Mode)

Here is the set up that I will use on displaying the game and such.
Game: [game name]
Download link: [linkage]
Screenshot: [linkage to the screenshot]
Video: [linkage to the video]
Install/Run on 7: [yes, no]
Rating: [1-5, 1 being runs, but a low FPS, or high
01amount of grphic glitches, 5 being perfect, and reason for rating, special notes]

This is going to be a list that I could get to run. Also, sorry, no sound was recorded because Windows is retarded and won't allow recording from speakers and my microphone 'kinda sucks D:

So, this is going to be the beginning, I already have a few games.
Game: Sim City 2000
Download link: [link]
Screenshot: [link]
Video: [link]
Install/Run on 7: No
Rating: 4, game runs, once in a while may not update video, but gameplay still goes, just have to recenter or zoom in/out to update video. Runs much better in DOSBox with Windows 3.1. [video at this [link]]

Game: 3D Ultra Pinball: Creep Night
Download link: [link]
Screenshot: [link]
Video: [link]
Install/Run on 7: No
Rating: 5 (Game was designed for Windows 3.1/95/98, but does not even want to install in DOSBox, complains about not having enought space -shrugs- oh well)

Everything I used with links!
Oracle VirtualBox [link]
Camstudio [link]
DOSBox (on some games that I said works great under Windows 3.1) [link]
And, of course, the games that are listed with their own links
Photobucket for screenshots [link]
Favupload for videos [link]

I will add in more games as I download and try them, if anyone has requests before they take a dive-bomb and try, you can ask for me to do, or you can do it yourself and add in your games! Just use the form I use please!

Have fun and happy gaming

Okay, due to my computer acting poor at doing anything else (because it's leaving my computer with about 1GB of RAM left lol) I chopped the RAM for the VM in half, so its no long 3 GB of RAM, its now 1.5 GB. But, all the games that work on it will still work with 1.5 GB. And, I've got a couple more games to add to the list.

Game: Command And Conquer Gold
Download link: [link]
Screenshot: [link]
Video: [link]
Install/Run on 7: Yes/Yes - but color is horrible.
Rating: 5 - I have gotten this game to work before, but I don't remember what I did. But the game works no problem under The First Decade. You need to disable cursor integration, otherwise the cursor will fly across corner to corner, and if/when you are able to keep it on screen, you won't be able to scroll very easy because your physical cursor goes off the VM causing the game cursor to go nowhere. I still prefer the original. DOSBox recording: [link]

Game: Starcraft
Download link: [link]
Screenshot: [link]
Video: [link]
Install/Run on 7: Yes/Yes - color is horrible during the intro movies, and color is just a little off
Rating: 4 - a little bit of hiccup every now and then, and be sure to disable mouse integration

I find that disabling Explorer through a BAT file works wonders in Windows 7.

Here is an example for Master of Orion II (stolen from Sevenforums)

http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/34302-master-orion-ii-anyone-got-work-correctly.html

TASKKILL /F /IM "explorer.exe"
cd C:\"Program Files"\Microprose\Orion2
start /w C:\"Program Files"\Microprose\Orion2\Orion95.exe
start C:\Windows\explorer.exe

That will kill explorer, run the game (in this case Master of Orion 2) and relaunch explorer when the game is done. I have also used this in Diablo 1 and 2 and Starcraft. I'd bet that'd work for Command and Conquer as well!

Game: Get Medieval
Download link: [link]
Screenshot: [link]
Video: [link]
Install/Run on 7: No
Rating: 4 - Has its moments of speedup/slowdown, but runs flawlessly otherwise.

Game: Gruntz
Download link: [link]
Screenshot: [link]
Video: [link]
Install/Run on 7: Not 64-bit, not sure about 32-bit
Rating: 4 - has a little bit more of a slowdown than above game, but works with no problem. Recommended to disable mouse integration for when you scroll to the sides, but not necessary.

Game: Hot Wheels Custom Car Designer
Download link: [link]
Screenshot: No screenshot because I forgot to take one and too damn lazy to start the VM back up just for a screenshot.
Video: [link]
Install/Run on 7: No.
Rating: 3 - The buttons are off a bit, making it difficult to click things. You'll have to find the right place. I find that big enough to dock 2 points off. I swear I had more fun with this when I was little...but now I sit here and scratch my head asking myself "Why am I doing this?" lol

Yes, I know I f--- up on the post before, I didn't close one of my URL tags >.

@LazyJ - maybe so, but I find it easier to use a virtual machine, and its more fun to see what GAMES work under the VM!

Sorry for the long delay of upadting, was trying to get Linux to work properly on my computer. Didn't work out, so got Windows back on this machine, and now back to trying games in a VM!

Game: Midtown Madness
Download link: [link]
Screenshot: [link]
Video: [link]
Install/Run on 7: No installer, but plays just as good as the VM, but no sound
Rating: 4 - Graphics are a little poor, but still very playable and sounds just as good! Be sure to disable mouse integration.
